58 Political parties endorse Kogi Governor ahead of election

Political parties endorse Governor Yahaya Bello ahead of November 16, 2019.

Fifty-eight Political parties under the platform of United Political parties has endorsed the re-election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate and the state Governor, Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming poll.

The Kogi State Gubernatorial election is billed for November 16th.

The parties made this known when they paid a courtesy visit to the leader of the party in the state and the Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Dr Ramatu Aliyu in Lokoja, the state capital.
Among some of the political parties represented were the Grassroots Development Party of Nigeria(GDPN), Democratic Alternative (DA), National Conscience Party (NCP), People Redemption Party (PRP), and Democratic Peoples Party (DPP).
Others are Advanced Congress of Democrat(ACD), Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), All People’s Party(APP) and Citizens People’s Party( CPP) among others.
Presenting a document signed by the leaders of the various Political parties, the National Secretary of Democratic Alternative Party, AD, Prince Frank Ukonga said ”the gesture was to key into continuity and to promote good governance as well as quality service delivery to Nigerians.”
Ukonga stated that they believed with unflinching support of their members, it would further enhance the victory of Governor Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming governorship election.
He informed Kogi people that the re-election of the Governor would enable him continue with the good governance and to consolidate on his achievements so far.

As national leaders of these registered political parties with structures and large followership in Kogi, we have come to mobilise our members and the people of the state to give their unflinching support to Governor Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming governorship election. 
His Excellency, Governor Bello as the youngest Governor in Nigeria has given hope and inclusiveness to the youth of Kogi State in part and Nigeria in Nigeria and deserves to continue to be the shining example for the youth in Nigeria, he explained.
He appealed to their members, supporters and the good people of Kogi State to shun any act of violence, before, during and after the poll.
Ukonga emphasised the need for continuity, saying ”the state would gain if Bello is given more years to consolidate on his achievements.”
The Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Dr Ramatu Aliyu thanked the political party leaders for their solidarity towards the victory of Governor Bello, urging them to work hard on it.
Dr Aliyu had met the APC ward leaders in Lokoja and enjoined them to mobilise support for the Governor.
The minister also met the leaders of women associations, market women and cultural groups. He appealed to them to mobilise support for the APC candidate towards victory in the governorship race.
