The Adamawa State Police Command said it has deployed over 5, 000 police officers for Saturdays, December 7 election, to ensure that no party supporter was harassed or attacked.

The Police Commissioner, Mr. Audu Madaki, said the police command was fully prepared with its operational order to every Divisional Police Officer, where they were being mandated to cover every polling unit in the divisions and local government areas.

Commissioner Madaki assured the people of the state of its readiness to ensure that the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections are conducted under a peaceful atmosphere.

The CP said sister security agencies were also going to support the police with manpower, to ensure no loopholes when it comes to deployment.

He said the police will hold a meeting with representatives of all political parties and the Chairman of the Adamawa State Electoral Commission in order to strategise for a violent free election.

The CP announced the Police Public Relations Office had been making announcements to the public, sensitising them, especially contestants to be conscious of their personal security, because of their vulnerability to attacks.
