RB Leipzig have completed the signing of Everton winger Ademola Lookman on a five-year deal.
Lookman, 21, enjoyed a successful loan spell with Leipzig in the second half of the 2017/18 season, registering five goals and four assists in 11 league appearances.
He has been assigned the No.17 jersey, having worn No.18 in his first stint at the Red Bull Arena.
“I’m very happy to be back here and would like to continue where I left off in the second half of 2018 for RB Leipzig,” Lookman told the club’s website. “Of course, I’m also looking forward to seeing my team-mates again and would like to help the team to continue to celebrate great successes.”
Lookman scored from the bench on his Leipzig debut in a Bundesliga match against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 3 February 2018, becoming the first Englishman to find the net in the German top flight since Owen Hargreaves in 2005.
“Finally I can play again in the Red Bull Arena in front of this great backdrop and the fans,” Lookman said. “And last but not least, I would like to thank God, the fans and RB Leipzig for making my move possible.”
Lookman has turned out 48 times for Everton after joining the Merseyside outfit from Charlton in January 2017, but was used only sparingly last season, starting just three of his 18 English Premier League appearances.
Despite making two appearances for England in UEFA Euro U21 qualifying, he was not selected for this summer’s finals.
