Africa has recorded over 63,000 cases of the novel coronavirus, with more than 2,283 associated deaths. This is according to the latest #COVID19 Update by the World Health Organization African Region.
Amongst all the African countries, as of Monday, 11th May, 2020, South Africa continues to lead with 10,015 confirmed coronavirus cases.
Algeria has recorded 5,723 cases with the highest number of fatalities in Africa- 502.
Nigeria has reported 4,399 cases; 778 have recovered and been discharged, while 143 have died from the COVID-19.
Ghana is next, recording 4,263 confirmed cases so far and 22 fatalities, while Cameroun has recorded 2,579 coronavirus cases and 114 deaths.
