The Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Sadiq Abubakar says the current strategy adopted by Nigeria’s security agencies is delivering positive result in tackling insecurity.

Abubakar stated this on Thursday after a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and security chiefs, which lasted over three hours.

The Air Chief was responding to a question on the need to change to a more effective strategy to tackle security challenges.

“I think the strategy has already been changed and I think from what we are seeing the current strategy is working.

“What we are going to do is to ensure that all hands are on deck and every Nigerian equally has a role to play by passing for relevant intelligence to us.

“So, I think so far the strategy we have on ground is really working and that is the one we continue to pursue.”

Air Marshall Abubakar said Thursday’s meeting was all about security of Nigeria and Nigerians.

“The message that’s coming out of that meeting is that the armed forces of Nigeria and other security agencies will continue to work much harder to ensure that every Nigerian is secured and the territorial integrity of Nigeria is not undermined by anybody,” he said.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, National Security Adviser, Director-General, Department of State Services and Director-General National Intelligence Agency attended the meeting.
