The Kebbi State Resident Electoral Commissioner Mr Ahmed Mahmud says all sensitive and non sensitive election materials for the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly Elections tomorrow has been distributed across the twenty one local government areas in the North West state and will be moved to the 225 wards today.
Mr. Mahmud who stated this in an interview with Voice of Nigeria said that there is a mutual understanding between the commission and security agencies in the state.
“We are prepared in the sense that all sensitive and non sensitive materials have been distributed to the 21 local government areas in the state under security escort. They will be moved from the local governments to the wards today and then by tomorrow, they will be moved to the polling units”.
In a press briefing, the Commissioner of Police Kebbi State Command Danjuma Garba gave the assurance that adequate security personnel would be deployed to ensure a hitch free Gubernatorial and state House of Assembly election in the state
“The police command has deployed adequate security personnel throughout the state which comprises of the conventional police, police mobile force, special protection unit, explosive ordinance device and other security agencies to ensure adequate security at polling units and ward collection centres respectively”.
The CP further reminded the citizens of Kebbi state that restriction of Vehicular movements on the Election Day is still in force.
