Amunike takes charge of Tanzania’s football team

Former Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Amunike has been appointed  as the new coach of the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.

The President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Wallace Karia said Amunike has signed a two year deal that would see him attempt to revive the fortunes of the East African nation.

The deal is being sponsored by the Serengeti beer.

The immediate task before Amunike is to qualify the Taifa Stars for the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFRICON) slated for Cameroun.

Tanzania last participated in Africa’s biggest showpiece at the 1980 AFRICON held in Nigeria.
