Eighteen state chapters of Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress, APC including the Federal Capital Territory, in Nigeria have adopted the direct primary method to elect its governorship candidate for the 2019 General Election in the country.

Meanwhile nineteen states have adopted the indirect primary method.

In a press statement signed by the party’s Acting National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Yekini Nabena, the APC said its National Working Committee (NWC) has approved the mode of primaries for all the 36 states which is scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2018.

Also the APC NWC banned the Adamawa State Working Committee from participating either as delegates or superintendents over the governorship primaries holding in the State.

The party said this is due to the fact that the Adamawa State Working Committee was prejudiced in favour of a governorship aspirant.
