APC governors endorse Oshiomole for party chairmanship

Governors of Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress, APC have declared their support for the candidature of the former governor of Edo State Mr. Adam Oshiomole as the National Chairman of the party.

The Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu stated his while briefing journalists after a meeting with Mr. Oshiomole at his campaign headquarters in Abuja.

The Kebbi State governor listed out the attributes of Mr. Oshiomole that makes him the best man to lead Nigeria’s governing party.

“He has been experienced in all aspects of national life and we are all confident that the party structure that is necessary for the continuous evolution and maintenance of democracy and his collective experience in the recent past as the executive governor of Edo State, one of the most successful leaders of trade union movement and a democratic activist all his life these qualities will be brought to bear in achieving the ideals of the All Progressives Congress.”

Governor Bagudu was one of seven APC governors to visit Mr. Oshiomole at his campaign headquarters.

Also a Chieftain of the APC, Mr. Bola Tinubu who paid a visit to Mr. Oshiomole endorsed the former Edo Governor for the position of the APC National Chairman.

“My presence here symbolizes solidarity and unity of purpose to continue to build a progressive party that will carry Nigeria on in a progressive manner and encourage good governance with courage and commitment. There is no doubt that I have endorsed his candidacy.”

Mr. Tinubu added that the APC was still working on reconciling aggrieved members.

“We are reconciling. Our being here is part of reconciliation. We are reconciling, what is politics? It is about conflict and conflict resolution.”
