APC National Chairman extends hand of compromise

Aanya Igomu, Abuja

The National Chairman of Nigeria’s governing party the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Adam’s Oshiomhole has extended a hand of compromise to all his adversaries in the party’s National Working Committee, NWC.

In a press briefing at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Mr. Oshiomhole said he will reconcile his style of leadership to that of others for the success of the party.

It would be recalled that Mr. Oshiomhole was suspended from his position as the National Chairman of the APC and subsequently faced the threat of being replaced by someone else.

He said that the APC National Working Committee is not divided.

“We have come here to remind our members nationwide that this NWC is not divided, it’s true we have arguments, it’s true some people may have been provoked to approach the court but it is also true that deep in our hearts, no one of us wants to destroy our party.

“I am the first to admit that I am not the best Chairman in the world and I’ll never be but no one can fault my sincerity of purpose, my style can only be my style but I recognise that I must reconcile my style to the style of others so that we meet middle of the road” he said.

He added that they will continue to have series of dialogues to resolve their differences for the progress of the party.

He appreciated the President and APC Governors for intervening in the recent challenges of the party.

After the briefing, the NWC went into a closed door meeting, the first meeting since the suspension of Mr. Oshiomhole.
