The All Progressives Congress, APC, Cross River State has disassociated itself from what it describes as a “rape on democracy in the name of governorship and House of Assembly Elections” in Cross River State, southern Nigeria.

A press statement signed by the chairman of the party,  John Ochala, described the electoral process, which returned the incumbent Professor Ben Ayade as governor of Cross River as a “daylight robbery of our collective will and mandate lead by the PDP government in active connivance the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and security operatives”.

Ochala stated: “Despite the very responsible manner in which our teaming party faithful and supporters went about their civic responsibility, the PDP in desperation to perpetuate their evil agenda killed several of our members, who refused to compromise and resisted the vote stuffing carried out by the PDP”.

He urged APC faithful and well wishers to “remain calm and go about their lawful duties, while the party leadership explores all avenues within legal limits to correct this aberration”.
