APC wins governorship election in Borno

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has been declared winner.

INEC returning officer, Professor Alhasan Mohammed Gali, the vice chancellor of federal University kashere, Gombe declared the results on monday, March 11, 2019 at the Kashim Ibrahim College of Education, Maiduguri the Borno State Capital, North Eastern Nigeria.

Alhasan said 32 political parties registered for the 2019 elections though the 27 local government across the state.

According to the returning officer, two million, three hundred and sixteen thousand, two hundred and eighteen votes ( 2316218) were registered as voters, and one million, two hundred and ninety two thousand, one hundred and thirty eight (1292138) were accredited.

All Progressive Congress pulled a Total of one million, one hunsred and seventy five thousand, four hundred and fourty, (1175440,) against PDP’s sixty six thousand one hundred and fifteen, (66115) with total Valid votes standing at one million, two hundred and sixty six thousand, nine hundred and and sixty seven (1266967,) while two thousand, two hundred and sixty (22060) were rejected with total vote cast standing at, one million, two hundred and eighty nine thousand and twenty seven (1289027).
