Basic FC, Smart city Football clubs clash for ARK finals

The Basic FC football club of Agege and Smart city football club of Surulere, Lagos State have qualified for the finals of the ongoing Adedamola Richard Kasumu (ARK) football competition in Lagos State.

The Ark tournament which started on the 14th of March 2018 saw 32 teams drawn from various parts of Lagos square up in their bid to win the prestigious Lagos tournament.

Basic FC defeated Atiko from Ojodu Berger 4-3 on penalties while Smart City defeated Starbase of Ajegunle 1.0 to meet for the finals on Thursday 29th March, coincidentally the birth day of Honourable Adedamola Kasumu in whose honour the tournament is organised.

“So far I think it has gone well, no serious injuries and it has been hitch free. Congratulations to Honourable ARK for hosting the competition and members of the local organizing committee”, said Ex-international Joseph Dosu (MON), the LOC chairman.

 “Few players have been selected for trials at the Teslim Balogun stadium to play in Europe”  Said Dosu.

The ARK football tournament will be a yearly event to give a chance to the players to make a career in football.

The best players at the competition are chosen to undergo trials by FIFA affiliated Lucid sports scouting agency.
