The Independent Electorate Commission is ready for the Bayelsa State governorship election that will take place tomorrow the 16th of November 2019 in Bayelsa State, South-South, Nigeria.
The Bayelsa State INEC Voter Education and Publicity Officer, Mr. Wilfred Ifogah made this statement in an interview with Voice of Nigeria today at the INEC head office in Yenagoa the capital of Bayelsa State.
He said: “We have done all the activities we have spelt out for the election, we have done them religiously and basically as possible on what we have. We have 14 activities on our time line. Starting with the publishing date of the election on August this year. Some few weeks back we have received sensitive and non-sensitive materials in the state. The non-sensitive materials have been sent out before today to the different local government areas in the state.”
He further explained that the sensitive materials are ongoing at the CBN in Yenagoa.
Mr. Ifogah added that the Adhoc staff who are participating in the election exercise have been sent out to their various units.
“The adhoc staff have been disbursed to their various wards in the state.”
He said that the adhoc staff have been trained already.
He also advised the Bayelsa state Electorates to obey INEC rules and guidelines to ensure a successful election.
Mr. Ifogah also advised the electorates to shun vote buying.
