Benue governor presents N28bn supplementary budget to assembly

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, in North Central Nigeria, has presented a Supplementary Appropriation Bill of N28.6bn to the State House of Assembly for consideration and passage.

Governor Ortom who made the presentation during a plenary was represented by the Commissioner of Finance, Mr. David Olofu.

Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange who received the bill on behalf of the House, referred it to the House Committee on Business and Rules for necessary legislative action.

The Benue State House of Assembly has also granted the request of the state Governor for approval to allow the Federal Government spend the sum of One billion Dollars from the Excess Crude Account for the purpose of procuring military hardware to tackle rising security concerns in the country.

The approval followed a letter to that effect signed by the Governor and read on the floor of the Assembly by the Speaker.
