Borno Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation launches Job portal

The Borno State Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has launched its ‘Job Portal’ in order to help its unemployed youths secure jobs within the state.

Speaking with VON Correspondent at the Government House, Maiduguri, the Commissioner of the newly created Ministry, Dr. Babagana Mustapfah Mallamre, said that the idea behind the creation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is to tackle the challenges of unemployment in the society.

Dr. Babagana Mallamre stated: “The portal will provide a comprehensive data on all the employed and unemployed youth in the state. The government is targeting a number of youth to engage them in skill acquisition.”

He added: “This is a policy by the government not just by an individual; it is a policy that can be subtend even if we leave office. We will also have a synergy with the Ministry of Education for us to have centers across the 3 senatorial zones for the purpose of those who don’t have access to internet to be able to login and upload their data.

“Our vision is for us to make Borno State one of the technological developing state in Nigeria, and our mission is to fast track the science technology and innovation in other to drive the socio-economic growth of the state.”
