Sound of blasts heard in Maiduguri

Rahilla Lassa, Maiduguri

A thunderous sound was heard in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital at about 3.07am Saturday morning, a day set aside for the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections across Nigeria.

Later, at 3.22 am, similar sounds rocked the city capital in what seemed like a twin blast exploding simultaneously according to Voice of Nigeria Correspondent who was on ground to monitor election in the North Eastern State.

However, as at the time of this report, it couldn’t be ascertained where exactly the explosions happened or who was responsible for it.

Details later.
