The Federal Executive Council on Monday held an extra ordinary meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which started at 11:00 GMT was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
There was however, no briefing at the the end of the meeting, which lasted four and half hours.
State House Correspondents were fully positioned for the usual briefing, which takes place at the end of every cabinet meeting but the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said “No briefing, we only looked at what we will present at the National Assembly tomorrow,” referring to Tuesday’s presentation of next year’s budget to the legislators by President Buhari.
The Nigerian leader is expected to lay the 2020 budget before a joint siting of the Senate and House of Representatives on Tuesday October 8 for appropriation, as the country intends to revert to the January to December budget cycle.
