Nigerians have been called to come out of the docility and hold their leaders accountable.

A Catholic Priest, Reverend Father John Oluoma  said leaders were getting away with their corrupt practices because the people are docile to the antics of the political class.

He made the call at the 8th Abuja Archdiocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria, CCRN, ongoing in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The clergy who is the Chaplain of the CCRN, stated that “restructuring of Nigeria is a sine qua non if the country must achieve overall development.”

“The Nigerian citizens have not really risen up to stampede their politicians and leaders to do what they ought to do, Nigeria has got to be restructured if the nation is ever going to make the headway,” Fr Oluoma said.

The Conference which ends on Sunday has as its theme “At a Time like This” intended to enable Nigeria reflects on the current state of the nation.
