Vote sorting, counting start in Umuahia as voting ends

Voting for the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections has ended in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, South-East Nigeria.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s ad hoc staff are sorting and counting the votes cast now in the presence of the electorate.

Security personnel are equally present to ensure that is no violence.

Thirty-two candidates vied for the position of Governor while 353 candidates contested for the State House of Assembly in 43 political parties in Abia State.
