Sergio Aguero scored a brace as Manchester City beat Chelsea 2-0 in the English football season opener – Community Shield.

Playing before a full house at the Wembley stadium London, City allowed Chelsea do the playing, but soon found the net.

The first goal came on 13 minutes as young winger Phil Foden ran to the edge of the box and found Aguero, who fired a left-footed effort into the bottom corner.

Chelsea threw everything at Pep Guardiola’s men, but found no profit.

It was more of the same in the second half as City allowed the pensioners dominate, and then pounced.

On 58 minutes, City’s  Gundogan passed to David Silva, who slipped a sublime through ball for Aguero to finish-off 15 yards out low into the bottom right corner.

Manchester City, who won the Premier League last season, will feel buoyed as they face North-London side Arsenal on Saturday in their first EPL match of the new calendar.
