Conference of Vice Chancellors, Rectors opens in Cairo

The Conference of Rectors, Vice-Chancellors and Presidents of African Universities COREVIP, has opened in Cairo.

The four day event holding at Al-Azhar University was organised by the Association of African Universities AAU in collaboration with the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Al-Azhar University.

The conference is purposed to examine collectively themes identified as common concerns and priorities for the development of higher education in member institutions specifically and Africa in general.

COREVIP will also provide opportunities for leaders of African higher education institutions to exchange experiences and draw on the lessons from institutions on issues relating to the theme of the conference.

Regional and international organisations involved in higher education initiatives will as well have opportunities to present their initiatives on the development of higher education on the continent.

COREVIP is an assembly of the Chief Executive Officers of AAU member institutions and their representatives.

The theme for the 2019 COREVIP Conference in Cairo is , “The Role of Higher Education Institutions in Promoting the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 16-25)”.  

COREVIP is to hold between 8-11the of July 2019.
