Corps member donates textbooks, pays school fees of pupils

The Kwara State Government has commended the brain behind the establishment of the National Youth Service Corp, NYSC.

The State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Kawu stated this in ilorin at the commissioning of a project embarked upon by a Youth member, Agidi Fiyinfoluwa Dorcas.

Hajia Sa’adatu Kawu explained that the NYSC had made great impact in the life of the Youths and the Nation.

Also speaking, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Fransisca Oyemeyo encouraged the Students, Youths  and the public to emulate the spirit of helping and providing for the less privilege in the society in other to encourage them to achieve their aims.

The Corporation Secretary and acting General Manager of Radio Kwara, Mallam Soliu Tajudeen Onikoko who witnessed the event,  praised Fiyinfoluwa for her gesture and encouraged her not to deviate from such activities .

Agidi Fiyinfoluwa  had embarked on distribution of notebooks, sewing of School Uniforms and payment of school fees to some Students of C&S Primary and Secondary Schools, Saint Barnabas and Saint Michael Secondary Schools.

“Fifty students and pupils benefited from this gesture and the  total amount spent on school and National Examination Council fees is a whopping sum of one hundred and ninety five thousand Naira,” Fiyinfoluwa stated.

The corp member who said the source of her fund was through financial assistance from philanthropists encouraged the students to make judicious use of the notebooks and be determined in their education.
