Court nullifies PDP gubernatorial candidacy in Kano

The Federal High Court sitting in Kano has nullified the primary election of People Democratic Party (PDP) in which Abba Kabir Yusuf Emerged Gubernatorial flagbearer.

The Court was presided over by Justice Lewis Alaoga studied the case brought before it by Ali Amin (Little) who alleged that he was denied a right of contesting the post.

According to him after purchasing expression of interest and nomination forms of the party, he was not giving a chance to partake in the primaries conducted in the state which contravene the electoral act.

Giving the judgement, the presiding judge Justice Lewis Alaoga nullified the election and ordered the party (PDP) to conduct fresh primaries before the Election Day.

It could be recalled that the complainant approached the court seeking interpretation whether PDP has right to produce its Gubernatorial flag bearer in the forthcoming general election without conducting valid primary Election.
