COVID-19: Absconded patient found, returns to isolation centre

One of the 127 returnees, who reportedly absconded from the Isolation centre in Ejigbo, Osun state has been returned to the centre.

The State Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode stated this in a statement.

Voice of Nigeria reports that 18 out of the 127 returnees tested positive for COVID-19 and had since been in the isolation centre for treatment.

Mrs Egbemode said that the authorities have subsequently commenced the tracing of individuals she might have come in contact with.

She also noted that security within and around the Isolation centre has been further beefed up.

The commissioner assured that the government would continue to enhance measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the State.
