The Kwara State Government has promised to provide security agencies in the state with logistic support to enforce COVID-19 border lockdown.
The State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi made the promise during his compliance monitoring tour to Kwara-Osun and Kwara-Kogi borders.
Mr Alabi who is also the Chairman, Kwara Technical Committee on COVID-19 tasked the security agents at the borders to ensure stricter enforcement of the border lockdown.
The Deputy Governor, who was accompanied by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Razak, assured that the state government would strengthen the security agents with logistics and other support to make the job of preventing unauthorized entry into the state easier.
Briefing the Deputy Governor, security officers manning the borders identified logistics as major hindrance to effective policing of the borders and called for synergy with security agents in the neighboring states.
