The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives has called on the leadership and other members of the House of Representatives, to subject themselves to the COVID-19 test as part of the collective efforts to contain the spread of the deadly virus in the country.

Mr. Ndudi Elumelu, who tested negative to the Corona Virus in London in a statement in Abuja, said “allowing members to be screened and tested will provide the needed leadership in the fight against the disease”.

He urged Nigerians to abide by the National Centre for Disease Control NCDC guidelines meant to contain the spread of the virus.

Mr. Elumelu and his family tested negative to the virus after two weeks of self isolation in London.

The Spokesman of the House, Mr. Benjamin Kalu had on Tuesday, March 24 denied that any member of the House was suspected or tested positive to the virus.

He stressed that the House would have exposed such member if it were so.

The House had embarked on a two-week break to fight the virus after passing an Economic Stimulus Bill to cushion the effect of the pandemic on the economy.
