COVID-19: Nigerian Navy receives 29 ventilators

As part of efforts to support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the Nigerian Navy has formally received 29 ventilators as donated by Messre OCEA.

The Nigerian Chief of Navy Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete  Ibas represented by Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Ifeola Mohammed said  “the Nigerian Navy intensified efforts to encounter the pandemic in line with federal government directives”.

He said that “the Nigerian Navy also put in place forty rooms isolation centre in Lagos to cater for those that tested positive to the virus.”

In his response, the Country Rep. of Messre OCEA, Mr. Yeini Aluko said in the global period of COVID-19, it was important to support partners to find solutions to the pandemic.”

He applauded the Nigerian Military in the roles it played in containing COVID-19 pandemic saying in advanced countries; military hospitals were the best which he said that should also be the same in Nigeria.

He also commended the efforts of the leadership of the Nigerian Navy for supporting the federal government in the fight and to see that their personnel were adequately protected.
