Delta APC calls for cancellation of Gubernatorial election

 By Gregory Ekpezu, Lagos.
The Delta State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC has rejected the 2019 governorship election results in the state, calling for it’s cancellation.
Incumbent governor, Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was declared winner of the exercise after securing twenty-three of the twenty-five local government areas in the state.
Okowa polled a total of 925,274 votes to beat his rival, Chief Great Ogboru of the APC
who garnered 215,938 votes.
The APC agent described the election that saw Okowa emerge winner as a charade characterised by violence, ballot box snatching and inflation of votes, hence their refusal to sign the results sheets.
Earlier in Warri, Chief Ogboru condemned the conduct of the gubernatorial and state assembly elections.
Speaking for the APC, the state  party’s Chairman, Prophet Jones Erue said the election was marred by violence as three persons were murdered in cold blood, saying it was the worst election ever conducted in the region.
