Cyriel Dessershas refuted suggestions that he could leave Heracles Almelo when the January transfer window opens.
The 24-year-old is in the form of his life, having scored 13 goals in 16 games for his Dutch outfit this season.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Italian side Cagliari when the transfer window reopens next month but despite strong rumours he insists he won’t leave.
The Heracles striker who pledged his allegiance to play for Nigeria at international level rather than his country of birth Belgium revealed that he will finish the season before pondering on his next transfer move.
“I think finishing the season in Almelo is the most sensible thing anyway,” he said.
“There is a difference between coming to see and effectively showing interest or making an offer. “I just hope to finish the season here. There are still more games to be played, so plenty of work to do. Play-offs? Yes, hopefully also a few games in the cup, Dessers said.
Dessers is the top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie with 11 goals, he was named the league’s November Player of the Month after scoring six goals and producing three assists.
