Plans are underway to make Ebonyi State hub of solid minerals in the country, to accelerate economic development.

The State commissioner for solid minerals development, Jona Egba disclosed this while inaugurating the committee on Blue Print on solid minerals in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

He said apart from agriculture, bringing together a team of experts to develop a blue print for the Ministry of Solid Minerals, would transform the sector to the mainstay of the Ebonyi State economy.

Egba expressed hope that when the blue print is rolled out and is fully implemented, the State will no longer depend on federal allocation and the people will be happy for it.
