Eid al-Adha: NSCDC deploys 1500 officers in Niger State

The Niger state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has concluded arrangements to deploy 1500 officers for the 2018 Eid-Al-Adha celebration.

According to a statement issued by the state command, “the officers will be deployed to all the Eid praying ground within the metropolis to avoid the breakdown of law and order”. 

The command noted that “the deployments will commence with the undercover officers to all the black spots in the state and urban patrol of armed men will commence immediately on the 19th August 2018, a day to Sallah”. 

The NSCDC stated that all the recreational centres in the state will be fully cordoned off to avoid the breakdown of law and order, to protect the teeming youth in the state so as to have a peaceful celebration.

“The state command will be putting into consideration the electioneering period as most of the politicians will be visiting their various constituency to seek the electorates supports  for the forth coming elections as such the command will assembled a special squad to counter any political thuggery,” the statement read in part.

The state commandant, Philip Ayuba also directed all the Area commanders to take charge of all the deployments within their jurisdiction and reports back to the state headquarters command and control room.

Furthermore the state commandant urged all parents to keep a close watch on all their children so as not to be used for political thuggery, and wished all residents of the State a happy Eid – celebration
