Election Results: Kano REC calls for calm

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kano north-western Nigeria Professor Risqua Shehu Arab has called on the politicians, electorate and entire political stakeholders in the state to remains calm.

Professor Risqua made this call in a Press Briefing this afternoon, saying that the circumstances which characterised the delay of releasing the final results of Gubernatorial Election held on 9th March, 2019 will soon be over.

Risqua expressed his dismay on the manner some hoodlums disrupted the collation of result at Nassarawa local government area, saying it was undemocratic and unpatriotic.

The   REC said “INEC would continue the collation of Nasarrawa local area through their primary source from the polling units”.

He also said INEC would invite all political parties during the continuation of the collation in a later time to ensure transparency, fairness, just and Democracy

In his address, the state collation officer Professor B B Shehu called on the politicians to support INEC in order to strengthen free Democratic processes in the state.

He urged the populace to remain calm as the situation is under control
