Enugu Governor elected unopposed in PDP governorship primaries

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state, on Sunday, emerged unopposed at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primaries conducted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Delegates from the seventeen local government councils of the state trooped out in their numbers to give their support to the governor who they said had done well and deserved a second term.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC primaries was delayed after a brief interruption.

As at the time of filing this report, the APC was yet to conduct their primaries as delegates started regrouping on Sunday night at the old stadium, located in the premises of the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus.

The election is expected to last till Monday morning.
