Ex-Eagles, Enyimba legends thrill Aba fans

Football fans in Aba had enough reasons to celebrate on Sunday, as the refurbished Enyimba International stadium hosted its first match in nearly three years.

The match featured a team of Ex-Super Eagles players against Enyimba legends – members of the 2003 and 2004 CAF Champions League winning teams.

The over 20,000 capacity stadium was filled up two hours before kick-off, as Aba fans flooded the venue having been denied of football matches due to the renovation of the stadium by the Abia state government.

The Enyimba legends won the game 1-0; with the Super Eagles missing three penalties.

The Nigerian side fielded Mutiu Adepoju, Alloy Agu, Samson Siasia, Daniel Amokachi, Garba Lawal, Yinka Shofoluwe, Taribo West, and Chukwu Ndukwe.

The Enyimba legends had the likes of Emeka Obi, Benbella Onwuchuruba, Igwe Madubuike, Paul Arowa, Okechukwu Anyaele, Osaye Iguebor, Royal Osuoha, Andrew Ariguzo, Ikechukwu Nwaimo.
