About 18 people are trapped beneath the rubble of a four-storey building which collapsed in the Jabi area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Rescue officials were said to have rescued about six persons while a corpse has been evacuated.
However, the heavy rain has also hampered rescue operations.
It was also ogathered that the building had been abandoned for over 15 years by the owner who recently mobilised workers to continue the construction of the structure.
Officials of the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority have arrived at the scene to commence the rescue of the trapped victims.
