F.C.T Polls: APC wins Abuja Municipal Area Council

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the incumbent Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Candido as the winner of the Saturday Area Councils elections.

Alhaji Candido who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated his main challenger from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mrs Vivian Anazodo.

Declaring the results in Abuja at the Council collation centre, the Returning Officer, Prof Muhammadu Umaru Ndagi said Alhaji Candido won after he polled a total votes of 53,538 to defeat his main opponent Princess Vivian Anazodo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 35, 753 votes.

The Returning officer announced that, the APC Candidate won with a margin of 17,785.

Candido who has returned elected for the AMAC will serve the Council for a second term for another three years.

Reacting to his victory, Candido thanked the people of Abuja Municipal Area Council for believing in his leadership and give him the mandate to lead them for anther three years.

He assured them that, he will continue to do his best to transform the Council in such a way that it would have positive impact on the lives of the residents.
