FADAMA builds six centers in Niger state


Niger State FADAMA coordination office says it has spent N42 million on the construction of six aggregation centres to prevent post-harvest losses in the state.

The FADAMA Project Coordinator, Aliyu Usman Kutigi, who spoke during a workshop for desk officers in the state explained that the centres built at Badeggi, Katcha, Kutigi, Izom, Sabon Ramu and Sabon Ushe would serve as storage facilities for farmers.

He stated that the training was geared towards eradicating corruption in the agricultural sector.

“Fadama 111 AF aims to train its staff so that it will eradicate corruption in agricultural sector which is the backbone of the nation’s economy,” he said.

He also stressed the need to strengthen the agriculture, education and health sectors as well as other critical sectors to tackle poverty, hunger, and diseases in the country.
