FCTA pledges speedy intervention on rural roads

The Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has expressed its resolve to continue fast tracking the speedy rehabilitation of all rural roads within the territory.

The Director Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) Engineer Felix Nwankwo spoke on behalf of the Administration while touring some of the rural roads in Abuja.

Engr. Nwankwo appealed for calm from all residents especially those affected by floods particularly in Mashafa, Gudupe, Bamboyi and Dankubo villages of Bwari Area Council who recently called for intervention on their roads.

He noted that the roads in question are currently undergoing procurement.

The Director stated that, technical bids have been done and evaluated to that regard.

He explained that as soon as there is an approval on this then, the financial bid will be completed leading to the award of contract immediately.

The Director further reiterated that the Administration is very much aware of the issues on the Mpape- Mashafa road and according to him a new design of the road has been done which included 3 numbers of 3 by 3 box culverts replacing the existing pipe culverts (multiple) which will serve the people better.

Engr. Nwankwo implored the Chairman of Bwari Area Council and the rest of the Communities that Government is doing everything possible  in ensuring that all dilapidated roads in the Federal Capital Territory (FCTA) are fixed on time adding that funds will soon be available to execute the projects.

He further added that the Administration is fully aware of the importance of all road projects and need to get them fixed as soon as possible.
