The Nigerian Ministry of Industry Trade and investment has reiterated its commitment in creating an enabling environment to enhance sustainable development in the country.
The Minister of the Ministry of industry Trade and investment, Mr Richard Adeniyi disclosed this during a media briefing in Abuja.
He stated that although the world bank ranking for Nigeria has improved, the present administration will work harder to make the ratings better.
“The President recently made an announcement about visa on arrival for all African Countries, we are working with airport authorities to make sure the arrival process is made easier and faster we are working with customers to see that importation of goods and the process in which they are brought into the country are more effective and faster..
“We are desirous of creating a free trade zone, we intended to make investors come and invest in the country to promote made in Nigeria products,” he explained
The Minister of State, Industry Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Katagum said countries should adhere to the ECOWAS treaty in order to ensure reopening of the Nigerian Boarders.
“There was a meeting on the boarder closure with Nigeria, Benin and Niger in attendance to address the issue concerning joint boarder patrol, one of the things that led to the boarder closure was non compliance to the ECOWAS treaty, the agreement with other counties is to follow the actual protocol laid by ECOWAS in order to make the reopening of the boarder a reality”. She added.
She also called on the media to help sensitise Nigerians on the danger of smuggling in order to stop the menace.
