The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has finally approved the just-refurbished Enyimba International stadium in Aba to host continental matches.

This follows the inspection of the stadium pitch and facilities by a team of CAF inspectors last week.

It means Enyimba will play their last CAF Confederations Cup group decider on Wednesday against CARA Brazzaville,

“Finally, the hard work pays off. The @EnyimbaFC stadium has gotten approval from CAF to host CARA Brazaville on Wednesday and the rest of the club’s #TotalCAFCC matches. Back home for good now,” said Enyimba’s media officer, Farriel Allaputa via twitter.

It would mark the first time that Enyimba would play a match in Aba since November 2015.

Enyimba are in pole position to qualify from Group C to the quarter-finals if they beat CARA Brazzaville.

The People’s Elephant secured a 1-0 away win against Djoliba of Mali in their last game in the competition to rekindle their hopes of vying for the CAF Confederations Cup title.
