A former electoral commissioner, Dr. Frankland Briyai, who recently resigned to contest for the Bayelsa governorship seat, has promised to take the state to greater heights.

Dr. Frankland Briyai spoke with journalists at a meeting with executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at their office in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, Southern Nigeria.

‘’I am here to inform the APC family that I am a registered member of the party; I intend to contest for the November 16th general election.

“There will be human capacity development and infrastructural development. We have discovered that there is unemployment in the state; some of them can’t go to school; some of them that are working cannot get their real salaries,“ Briyai explained

The former Cross River State Resident Electoral Commissioner added: “I will impact Bayelsans in term of jobs, education, to make sure that this state gets to the right direction, whereby there will be economic growth. Also, I will make sure that poverty will be eradicated. “

“I will identify those factors that are setting Bayelsa state backward. I will turn this state around for the betterment of everybody in the state,” he concluded.

The Bayelsa state governorship election will take place on November 16.
