Gombe Governor in US, begins roundtable on health, human capital development

The Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and 12 other Governors from Nigeria have begun a roundtable deliberation on health and human capital development in the USA.

The dialogue is being convened by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation, holding in Seattle,  Washington, United States of America.
Governor Yahaya, at the opening commitmented to the full implementation of the Primary Health Care Under One Roof policy.
He also listed the successes recorded by the Village Heath Worker Scheme in 50% of the wards in the state and his plan to scale up the programme to the remaining 50%.

While he underscored the importance of investing in health and education, the Governor expressed his resolve to block leakages in order to harness more funds for human capital development.

He gave the assurance that his government would provide all counterpart funds needed  to support improved primary healthcare and basic education in the state.

Governor Yahaya appreciated the long standing partnership between the Gombe State  Government and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which dates back  to over 10 years, while pledging to sustain and strengthen relations between them for the benefit of the people of the state.
