Gombe receives donation of books to boost education

Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has received a donation of forty two thousand assorted text books for Primary and Secondary Schools worth over one hundred and fifty million

The gesture was in fulfilment of Governor Yahiya’s quest to revamp the education sector in Gombe State.

The donation made by the Learn Africa Education Foundation in collaboration with Longman Publishers, was facilitated  by a renown  educationists and former Provost of Isa Kaita College of Education, Katsina, Dr Kabir Ahmed.

The Chairman and Chief Executive of KHABICO Company, Dr. Ahmed, equally said the gesture was in line with his strong belief in the significance of education in shaping the life status of the people for a better future.

Receiving the textbooks on behalf of the state Government, the Chief of Staff to the Governor,  Alhaji Kabir Usman Kukandaka, expressed appreciation for the kind gesture, while assuring the donors of the judicious distribution of the books.

Alhaji Kukandaka however called on organisations and philanthropists to support governments in meeting the numerous needs of the people.
