Governor urges Muslims to replicate lessons of Ramadan

Muslims in Gombe State have been enjoined to replicate the lessons learnt in the holy month of Ramadan in their daily lives as they mark the Eid-El Fitir Sallah Celebration.

Felicitating with the Muslim community on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya urged them to sustain the tempond momentum of the supplication and devotion for the peace, security and prosperity of the state and the nation.

“As we celebrate the Eid-El Fitir, I want to admonish us to learn from the good lessons of Ramadan, which connotes pity, obedience and selflessness. We must also imbibe the tenets of Islam, which promotes peace, tolerance, modesty and love,” he said.

Living in harmony
Governor Yahaya urged the people of the state to continue to live in harmony, irrespective of their differences, describing peace as catalyst for the socio-economic development of any society.

“Let me express my immense gratitude to our traditional rulers, community and religious leaders and indeed the entire people of Gombe State for their support to our new administration. I urge us all to rededicate ourselves and contribute positively to the progress and development of the state,” Governor Yahaya said.

He assured the people of Gombe State of his administration’s commitment to speed up development in all ramifications.
