Hajia Alhassan made this observation in an interview with Journalists after casting her vote at the Lamurde Primary school polling unit in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital in North East Nigeria.
She attributed the low turn out to the clash between some party supporters in the state a day before the elections which probably scared off voters.
” the turn out is poor.. at least not as good as the presidential and National elections. This is probably because of little problem yesterday. I think two people were said to have been killed so that scared many people from coming out today”
On female voters turn out she said the tension in the state in the past days possibly affected female voter turnout.
