A discourse on the social security challenges facing Nigeria has taken place in Lagos.
The event was organised by the Coalition for Revolution, a political movement led by pro-democracy activists.
Host of the event, Funsho Awe told Voice of Nigeria in an interview, that the gathering of pro-democracy activists was meant to draw attention to insecurity in some parts of the country and the alleged clampdown on voices of dissents.
He highlighted the demands of the coalition to include, “economy for all, total system change and rationalisation of the power sector and the probe of its privatisation,” among others.
Speakers at the event include; Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, Seun Kuti, son of the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Ransome-Kuti, Professor Omotoye Olorode and Professor Anthony Kila, amongst others.
