The Fellowship of United Churches of Christ in Nigeria, also known as Tarayyar Ekkilisiyyar Krista a Nigeria, TEKAN visited Kaduna State government and prayed for peaceful coexistence amongst it’s residents.
TEKAN President, Reverend Caleb Ahima said, they were at the Government House on a courtesy visit and to also pray for government to deliver on it’s promises to the people.
“We are here to condole with government on the recent gas explosion which killed several lives and to pray for those four seminarians who were kidnapped in the State”.
“On the gas explosion and the kidnap of four seminarians, we pray to God to help government on issues regarding security matters so that Kaduna can be secured as it has always been in the past’, he stressed.
According to Reverend Caleb, Kaduna State accommodates people of different tribes from across the Country, hence, difficult to govern. But with the power of God, the diversity has been governed.
He also called on government at all levels to always promote unity amongst people. It is essential for government to ensure justice too especially with the situation people are undergoing in this Country regarding insecurity.
On her part, the Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe said, it was a pleasure to receive such group of powerful men of God from different Churches who have prayed for their administration.
She explained that, they sought prayers from TEKAN as it is important to seek the favor of God while carrying out all endeavors of lives.
“As a government, we pray but it’s also good to have other people pray for us so that we can deliver on all the programs designed for the benefit of the people of Kaduna”.
Speaking on religious crisis, Hadiza mentioned that, there has been a decrease in crisis that has religious undertones across the State as progress has been achieved in that aspect.
“Though we have other security challenges like kidnapping, armed banditry and cattle rustling rearing their ugly heads, for now, issues relating to religious crisis has been reduced drastically”.
She urged everyone to keep praying and providing information about being from one God and worshiping Him in different ways we know how.
