Gubernatorial Election: Adamawa to commence voting at 8am- REC

The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Adamawa State in North east  Nigeria, Mr Kassim Gaidam says he is optimistic that voting will commence by 8 am in all polling units in the State.

Mr Gaidam said this during an interactive session with journalists in Yola the State capital.

The REC said his team studied the challenges faced during the Presidential and National Assembly elections and has deployed necessary resources to mitigate them.

He added that he is working with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth conduct of the elections.

Also speaking, the Electoral Officer in charge of Yola-North,  Abubakar Suleman, said sensitive and non-sensitive materials have been distributed to the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, officials in Yola North, Adamawa State North-east Nigeria.

Suleman who monitored the distribution of the materials in the presence of party agents stated that arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth conduct of the election.

Yola-north has one hundred and eighty seven thousand and seventeen (187,016) registered voters expected to vote in one hundred and sixty seven (167) polling units.
