One of the pilgrims on the 1st flight from Nassarawa state will undoubtedly count his prayers answered after the recovery of his missing wallet, which contained all his money.
NAHCON officials report that the pilgrim, popularly called ‘Wa-Lahalaha’ by his fellow pilgrims, assumed that he had lost his entire basic travel allowance or BTA, when his wallet went missing.
The incident occured within the Al-Andalus Al-Masi hotel, where the 1st batch of Nasarawa state pilgrims were lodged.
A staff of the hotel however, found the wallet with the money it contained and lodged it before Mr Al-Sayyif Khalifa, the hotel’s IT manager.
For his part, the manager, with the aid of CCTV video recordings, identified the pilgrim who owned the wallet and it’s content, before calling in officials of Nahcon.
After reviewing the video recording, officials of Nahcon and their counterparts from the Nassarawa state Pilgrims Board, invited the owner of the wallet and returned everything intact to the ecstatic pilgrim.
Wa-Lahalaha who could not hide his joy, thanked the hotel management and Nigerian officials for their commitment and honesty and prayed to Allah (God Almighty) to reward them all with Aljannatul Firdaus, the best and highest abode in heaven.
Both NAHCON and state officials at the scene thereafter, advised all pilgrims to be more careful and vigilant in handling their belongings, especially their money.
